BIOGRAPHY
Laura Pisani is an Argentine soprano recognized for her talent and versatility. A graduate of the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires (ISATC), Laura has been trained by prominent teachers such as Gustavo López Manzitti, Eduviges Picone, and Lizzie Waisse, establishing herself as one of the most promising voices in the Argentine opera scene.
Throughout her career, she has been awarded several prizes that attest to her artistic excellence. Among them, she was honored with the First Prize in Singing at the Bienal Juvenil Shell – Musical Festivals of Argentina (2013/2014), the Prix Spécial Voix Féminine at the Concours International de Belcanto Vincenzo Bellini (2018) in France, and the "Encouragement Award", bestowed by the Asociación de Críticos Musicales de Argentina (2019). Furthermore, in 2023, she received the distinction as "Acclaimed Singer" at the Premios Radio Nacional Clásica of Argentina. In 2024, she was nominated as Best Singer by the Asociación de Críticos Musicales de Argentina.
Laura Pisani has taken her talent to international stages: she participated in a tour in the Netherlands, in 2014, as Dircé in Medea by Cherubini, with the Opera2day company, performing in theaters across the country. In 2018, she made her debut in the United States as Die Königin der Nacht with the Florentine Opera Company of Milwaukee. In Germany, Laura recently debuted at Theater Kiel in the Opera Gala that opened its 2024/2025 season.
In Brazil, Laura Pisani’s career has been marked by achievements in some of the country’s most important venues. Her portrayal of Anna Da Cunha in the opera Piedade by João Guilherme Ripper, both at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo and at Sala Cecília Meireles in Rio de Janeiro, was praised for its emotional depth and technical skill. In 2023, her Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo received critical acclaim, with the São Paulo press highlighting her impeccable vocal technique and her ability to convey the character's complexities. Additionally, her debut at Theatro Municipal de Rio de Janeiro as Violetta Valéry in La traviata was very well received. In this role, she was described as "an interpreter who brought elegance and sophistication to the character, with solid technique, impeccable legato, and refined phrasing." Her relationship with Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires has been close and ongoing, as she has participated in productions such as Der Rosenkavalier (2017), Rusalka (2017), Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny (2017), Piedade (2018), Le bal (2019), Ariadne auf Naxos (2019), and La finta giardiniera (2021). In 2023, Laura took on several significant roles, including Die Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, La Vièrge in Jeanne d'Arc au bûcher, and Soprano I in Choral Fantasy Op. 80 by Beethoven, the latter two works conducted by Maestro Charles Dutoit.
As for her more recent performances, Laura made her debut in 2024 at Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Chile, as Die Königin der Nacht, a role she had already performed in various productions. That same year, she was the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana, marking the opening of the Teatro Colón's season in Buenos Aires.
In 2025, Laura Pisani made her debut as Cecilia in the opera Il Guarany by Carlos Gomes, at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo. Her participation in this production, which was recognized in 2023 with the Ópera XXI Award for "Best Latin American Opera Production," was praised from both critics and audiences.
